About Villa Cappelli
Not your typical Italian farmers, Paul Cappelli and Steven Crutchfield, set out to make Villa Cappelli – La Dolce Villa.
Unfulfilled in the advertising business they moved to southern Italy where they run the ancient Villa, on fabled Appian Way, and operate it as a farm, luxury rental property and restaurant. They also make and sell their own brand of Italian food products, including extra virgin olive oil and sun-dried tomatoes. All of which can be purchased on their site.
They work with the land and seasons to produce a wonderful life and host their guests in the authentic Italian way. However, they still have that American spark that lights up their entrepreneurial spirit. That’s why they say Italian Living, American Thinking.
After years renovating and bringing Villa Cappelli, and all of its epicurean delights into full glory they are excited to share their learning and lives with you.
When we found the villa, it was in ruins. For years, we have painstakingly restored this historic villa to the beautiful home it is now. Villa Cappelli sits majestically on the ancient Via Appia in the town of Terlizzi, just northwest of Bari in the region of Puglia. The land, filled with fossils from 10 million years ago, is covered by ancient olive groves, vineyards, and fruit trees. When we found the villa, it was in ruins.
