KYD’s Quick Guide to the Grand Tetons
Trish wanted to do some shopping in Jackson Hole and Carson said, “I’m out”. So he rode to the Skate Park and while he was there, the local kids told him about “jump rock” at the Phelps Lake Loop. It’s such a great reminder to find ways to interact with locals to get the scoop on what to do and see!
Often we Google search for things to do in an area, we’ll get directed to the touristy stuff or ticket sales. There is nothing wrong with this, but one of the best things about RV travel is getting off the beaten path.
While we were in Jackson Hole, the boys got haircuts (The Whiskey Barber) and it was great. Dave has worked there for 30 years and had lots to share about the area. If you’re eating out, you can sit at the bar to strike up conversations with others.
We found some GREAT food options in Jackson Hole. All the recommendations on the Quick Guide are great and each at different price points. We also enjoyed shopping and hanging out in Jackson.
We stayed at Colter Bay Campground, which could be one of our favorite State Park campgrounds to date… and it’s big rig friendly. The cell coverage was terrible! But the view of the lake made up for it!
The picture below was taking at Colter Bay Campground. Stunning! And by the way, Summer to Remember shirts are available again, but only for this week. If you missed them last time, don’t wait. This is it and then they are gone for good.
#S2R is our favorite project of the year because it brings the KYD community together and makes the world a little smaller. Seeing people with a S2R shirt on is like meeting an old friend! So much fun. Thanks for your support!

We had a trip to the Tetons, Glacier, and Yellowstone all lined up for this month but being military we were restricted to not leave our state (WA)….watching your Teton episode last night we realized we could have had the chance to run into you guys on the road!

Marc and Tricia, Love your YouTube’s, podcasts and website. We’ve learned so much and have become even more inspired to pursue our dream. My wife and I just bought a 2009 Sprinter Class C and will be leaving next month for some of the same destinations you’re headed – Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota and MIchigan to help our daughter go back to law school. We can’t wait for our trip! In this episode you had a hot water problem. How were you able to repair it? Also, you nixed the Amazon $19.95 bike cover a few episodes . What did you come up with instead?
