KYD Quick Guide to Sun Valley
We really enjoyed our time in Sun Valley, but admittedly, we didn’t make the most of our visit. Coming out of the Tetons with a week of sketchy internet and dirty clothes, we needed a “reset”.
That’s what happens after RVing for 26 days. We needed to hit the pause button, do some laundry, fix the cabinet and have a little date night 🙂
Yet, we still managed to meet several people that live in Sun Valley that follow KYD, find some great food and get out and hike. We decided that we need to come back in the winter to ski Sun Valley. We’d love to visit in the winter and when Sun Valley is back to 100% capacity again.

You should definitely go back in winter to ski. SV is my favorite resort. We’ve been to most US ski areas (except California). But, love SV so much we have returned 6 times. I even went by myself one year when my husband decided instead to invest in a new mountain bike, meaning I used my portion of dollars to ski. We’ll be watching tonight. We hope to visit in summer or fall now that we RV and take our English setters to events more than we ski.

Wish our 2018 Ford F-150 King Ranch had that engine brake!! Have you used the trailer backing program?

I’ve wondered when you would make it to the Sun Valley area. I grew up there and when I saw the Kraay’s Market sign, I thought the name sounded familiar. I realized that was Larry Kraay, one of my 6th grade teachers! You definitely need to go back because you didn’t even scratch the surface of this magical place. From there, you should head north over Galena summit, into the Stanley basin and into the Frank Church Wilderness. You won’t be disappointed.
