About their adventure
No matter how great life can be… sometimes it’s nice to take a break. Join Amy Carney and her family of six on their journey across the US. Learn how the trip brought their family closer together and how their adventure taught life lessons along the way!
Amy loves to travel and is always on board for an adventure!
But up until this year she had never spent one night camping or RVing. In fact her husband had never driven anything bigger than a suburban or even owned tools…but today that has all changed. Amy tells us, in this podcast that the 6 month – RV – USA – Family Sabbatical was the best thing they have ever done together!
This trip has lead to so many things they would have never known…like: how taking on a new adventure has brought her family closer…her marriage of 18 years stronger…and has given her triplet teen boys and tween daughter an opportunity to participate in daily living – providing growth that a classroom just can’t offer.
In addition, Amy is continuously fulfilling her life goal, even after the sabbatical, by living intentionally and with purpose. This process is documented in her blog where she talks about her love to serve others and her intent to raise well rounded kids in this entitled and crazy world. By stepping out of the norm Amy and her family have made room to Live Intentionally and with Purpose.

We sound exactly like you guys…..I have never been in an RV, my husband has never driven anything larger than our Honda Pilot (that we are currently trading in on a truck) and we are about to leave everything behind and do this “sabbatical year” as family of 4 plus one furry one:)
I am mostly excited but moments of panic, like what in the world are we thinking?!!? However, we are a family of faith and we believe this is what God is calling us to do for so many reasons and it are taking a HUGE leap of faith and trusting in Him.
My question is, what homeschool protocol did you use? My kids are 8 and 9 and would like to combine their learning into one. I am not the most organized person but have a desire to learn hands on with history/science/culture but of course want to solid foundation of math/english/spelling/writing curriculum. Any suggestions?
