Top 7 Unforgettable RV Trips in the USA (In 10 days!)
The infamous 10-day trip is popular by many RVers. Take a week off work, slap on a couple of weekends and you’re good to go 🙂
But where to go is the question!
KYD subscriber Russel Streeter left a comment asking for some tips on his next big adventurer. With so many others asking similar questions, we thought it was time to make a video.
What makes an RV trip unforgettable?
We determined it had to include places that are not just awe-inspiring, but somewhere that transported your mind somewhere else if even for a moment.
We came up with seven RV trips that can be done in 10 days (without rest or much stopping!) that will be sure to leave you wanting more!
- Central Coast
- Southwest
- The Mountain States
- The Great Smokey Mountains
- Michigan and the Upper Penisula
- New England
- Florida Keys

Just wondered what campground you were at on the Gallatin River?
Jon Cloutier says
We are wondering the same. We are planning our trip to Bozeman and trying to figure out where this is.
Bill R. says
Ditto for me as well. I fished the Gallatin for many years as a kid and want to make a return trip.

Great Smokey Mts.! We are full time 2yrs and it was your YouTube channel that encouraged and motivated us to take the plunge! We absolutely loved your stop in our hometown of Murfreesboro, TN and seeing you all have fun at MTSU! Thanks for putting this life style in a highlight for others to see and understand
Karen says
Do you have a spot with the itineraries (just short overviews) listed for these trips?
Kelly Reynolds says
That’s what I came here to find as well.

Your comment about being flexible is so true! We just got back from a 10 day trip. On day 4, our new (2020) trailer was sideswiped by a driver that fell asleep at the wheel. After all the paperwork was completed ( thank you, Oregon State Patrol), we continued on our way and had a great time. We did have to stop in the next town for a couple of rolls of tape to seal up a few places, lots of folks thought we would have just gone home. But we completed the trip, with a great story. Keep on rolling! The bumps and dips make it interesting.

Can’t find the videos of the 7 trips??? Where are they listed?
Marlene Grayson says
Yes, where are the 7 trips?
Katie says
Do you have a link to the blanket tablecloth you are using?
Jennifer says
I was just about to ask the same thing!

I loved last week’s video but there’s just one minor correction needed: Michigan does too have a national park! Check out Isle Royale National Park.
Joel Friday says
Tough to pull your camper there.
Donna J Weathers says
We loved last week’s video but there’s just one minor correction needed: Michigan does too have a national parks! Check out Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Munsing and Keweenaw National Historic Park in Calumet. Also Sleeping Bear Dunes Nation Seashore.
All of these are part of the NPS.

Any suggestions on where to stay in Boston? I think our next summer trip will be the upper east coast – but I’m concerned about where to stay in Boston. Thanks!
Oh, and next time you go to the Smokies check out Bryson City, NC. It has more of the small town touristy similar to Jackson, WY.

I thought many of the trips you said were not too long at all. We rented a one way Rv in Denver and in 10 days we did Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier, Olympic, and Portland then flew back to Denver. It was great, yes you could spend longer but we got to see many things and plan to go back to many of them some other time. FYI in Washington, you need to do the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim. Best time we had on an amazing trip, kids still talk about it 2 years later.
Janet says
We took my grandson to the Olympic Game Farm. I do believe I enjoyed as much or more than he did! I wanted to do the loop again but we ran out of time.
Linda Chatham says
The problem I see with all these trips is that unless you live near the area, you’re spending another week just driving there and back. We live in St. Louis, MO, and it took us four days to get to Ouray, CO to start our Colorado vacation. Three days back since we left for home from Denver.
Jack Sides says
We’ve been to all those same places and on many of the same roads, except on a motorcycle over the past 25 years. Now we just purchased our first TT and we’re looking forward to doing it all over again. We really enjoy your videos and especially your advice for us newbies.

We are Mason, Ohio. We went on a three week trip out west when our son was 17 years old now 34 years old. Three things broke. On that trip we had the drivers side mirror broke on the van before we pulled out of the driveway. Then on our way to Yellowstone the back window broke on the van that took a day to fix. On our way to Salt Lake City the front windshield broke at was another day. By the time we got to Bryce Canyon our son didn’t want to get out of the van and look. He said when you seen one rock you’ve seen them all. We made him get out, now he says he glad we made him get out. We seen a lot in three weeks, the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower, Yellowstone, Salt Lake City, Bryce Canyon, Pink Sands, Grand Canyon, White Sands, that’s just some of our trip.
TOM D SPURLOCK says
You’ve got a good list, we’ve been to many of those destinations. I suggest you add So Dakota. We went there last year and really enjoyed Rushmore, Custer State Park, Devils Tower, Deadwood, Sturgis, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave NP, boondock at the Badlands, and of course you gotta visit Wall Drug while your in the area, Hah! That area is a really good 10 day trip. I’m surprised we waited so long to see the area.
F Wulff says
I’ve just started watching your videos on YouTube (binge watching). What times of the year would you recommend for each of these trips
Jason says
We’re in Ohio and planning to do something very similar to your mountain states tour in a few years but don’t really know where to start planning. Do you by chance have a rough itinerary posted somewhere that might give us some ideas? We’re hoping to be able to do it in 2 weeks but just for the general trip Google is telling me around 65 hours of driving without the extra sight seeing.

Thanks for the informations! surely helped my day!
